We turn to you, Lord, our hope, in faithful prayer for our brothers and sisters whose lives have been overturned by hurricane Katrina.
R. Lord, help your people!
For all the people who no longer have homes, that they will soon find safe shelter and food.
R. Lord, help your people!
For children who are afraid, that they may find comfort and hope in the love of those around them.
R. Lord, help your people!
For the many elderly who may be week or ill, that they will find the strength they need to persevere through these horrifying days.
R. Lord, help your people!
For the rescue workers, that people will recognize God’s love in their heroic works.
R. Lord, help your people!
For doctors, nurses, paramedics and EMTs, that your Spirit will sustain them through extremely long hours of caring for and healing your people.
R. Lord, help your people!
For police officers, protect them and keep them safe as they attempt to bring peace to these communities.
R. Lord, help your people!
For those who have died, that they will find rest in your loving arms.
R. Lord, help your people!
For all your children, that we may answer the call to share our gifts with our brothers and sisters in need.
R. Lord, help your people!
